Last week - the first week of the school summer holidays - I took our two children to visit Betty's Farm, a charming local attraction, in Willington, Derbyshire.
This free-range egg farm is the source of the eggs that we provide for our guests, and we had a lovely time feeding the hens, who came excitedly running to us, and the children fed some by hand.
The Farm also has some lovely goats that we fed too, and there are some other small animals to see, better still, it's free to visit! There is a farm shop that stocks a variety of local produce including speciality cheeses, baked bread, cakes, jams, local wines, beers and ciders as well as fresh vegetables. On the hot day we visited we opted for ice-lollies, yum!
We are Dan & Mary-Ann Griffin. Husband and Wife. Parents to Isabelle & James. Here we will be recording the story of us messing about on the Trent and Mersey Canal with our narrowboat Silver Ann 2. We opened for holidaymakers in April 2019. You can keep up to date with our progress here.
